Description

Facility Emergency Department is in need of locum coverage. We are looking for 2 FULL TIME Locums to start ASAP with emergency/temp privs. Locum must be flexible to work varied shifts per facility's needs.

  • Nov 25 (6p-3a)

  • Dec 5-6 (11a-8p)
  • Dec 13 (11a-8p)
  • Dec 17 (6p-3a)
  • Dec 20-22 (11a-8p)
  • Dec 24 (7a-4p - 1 provider) (2p-11p - 1 provider)
  • Dec 25 (2p-11p)
  • Dec 27 (7a-3p)
  • Ongoing dates TBD


SHIFT TIMES:

  • -Mid: 11a-8p (every day, doesn't change on weekends)
  • -AM: 7a-4p Mon-Fri (7a-3p on Sat/Sun)
  • -PM: 2p-11p Mon-Fri (3p-11p on Sat/Sun)
  • Varied Shifts. Please note our shift needs may change in 2027 to also include MD shifts 6p-3a or 10p-7a depending on night coverage. Provider must be willing to work varied shifts depending on the facility's needs.
  • Ideal provider would be available for 2 weeks of coverage per month (15 shifts) ongoing. However, we would favor a single physician who is able to work full-time for a period of time, including some holidays, rather than contracting with several additional providers with each covering a smaller number of shifts.
  • Start Date: ASAP, as soon as credentialed. Ongoing need through 2027.
  • # of Providers Needed: 2 FTE 


  • Setting: Emergency Department
  • Duties: Provide high-quality emergency medical care, including evaluation, treatment, and disposition of patients. Work collaboratively with attending physicians to manage a broad spectrum of emergency conditions. Ensure effective patient handoffs and communication with consultants, hospitalists, and other care teams. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Days per month: FULL TIME
  • EMR: EPIC
  • Support Staff: RNs
  • Reason for Coverage: Recruitment challenges
  • Dealbreakers: Any actions on license, less than 2 years Emergency Medicine experience
  • "Would they consider someone who has 20 years of EM experience but are FM boarded?" No, credentialing requires all physicians to be ABEM/AOBEM certified/prepared.

Credentialing Information:

  • Timeframe: Emergency/Temp Privs
  • Requirements: Emergency Medicine Fellowship for Physicians. Minimum of two years' experience, plus ACLS, NRP and DEA certification required for APPs.
