Anesthesiologist Locum Job in Burlington, VT


Job Info

  • Facility needs a locum for coverage to start ASAP that can cover long stretches of time as opposed to a week here and there. Consistently 2-4 weeks per month is ideal. The closer to full time availability the better. General Anesthesiologist, no hearts, no OB.
  • Description of Work Assignment : General anesthesia, intubation, IV placement, spinal, epidural for post-op pain is rare, arterial line, central line. Non-operating room assignments may include interventional radiology, electrophysiology (no SVTs), and general and interventional endoscopy. There are always faculty anesthesiologists and the clinical director available to help. No nerve blocks. No OB.
  • Breakdown of Clinic Days/Sessions and/or OR Days: No clinic, only OR. Occasional resident didactic lectures are an option if interested, but not expected.
  • Schedule of Days/Times Needed To Work/ Shift Hours: Available 7 am – 5 pm. Mon-Fri
  • On call? If so, what are the call hours? No Call Obligations
  • Procedures Provider Will Be REQUIRED To Perform: General anesthesia, intubation, IV placement, spinal, epidural for post-op pain is rare, arterial line, central line.   • Board Status Requirement (BC/BE): BC or BE If Board Eligible, they must take their boards within 7 years of residency
  • Certifications Required? BLS, ACLS, PALS??
  • Is There Additional Surgical Staff? N/A
  • Is there additional support staff? Anesthesia techs for supplies, room cleaning.
  • Patient Support Assistant staff members in OR to assist anesthesia with positioning and procedures.
  • Is the provider working solo or with other providers? If so, whom? Some solo, some supervision of anesthesia residents (CA-1 to CA-3). No fellows.
  • Are there mid levels? If yes, is the locums provider responsible for mid levels? Yes, CRNA and AA mid-level supervision is common.
  • Trauma Level of Work Location: Level 1 trauma center
  • EMR System? EPIC
  • Is the Clinic EMR Different From the Hospital EMR? no
  • Expectations of the Physician Culturally? Collegial and collaborative.
  • What Is the Decision-Making process? Clinical Directors assigns staff to cases for the next day and makes operational decisions on the day of surgery.
