Description :
We are seeking an experienced Locum Cardiologist to provide inpatient cardiology coverage on a recurring monthly basis. This opportunity requires a consistent commitment to a five-day long weekend assignment every third weekend, beginning in January.
The physician will provide hospital-based cardiology services, including patient rounding, consultations, and management of urgent inpatient cardiac cases. Candidates must have the required TEE and Nuclear Cardiology skills and be comfortable managing inpatient responsibilities and overnight call coverage.
Schedule & Availability Requirements
- Start Date: January
- Coverage Frequency: One 5-day long weekend every three weeks (1 in 3 weekends).
- Preferred Schedule: Thursday morning through Tuesday morning.
- Alternative Start Dates: Wednesday or Friday morning may be considered if needed.
- Ongoing monthly availability and commitment are mandatory.
- Providers must remain on assignment until at least 7:00 AM Monday morning.
- Early Monday departures and Sunday evening departures are not permitted.
Important: Candidates must be able to commit to recurring coverage beginning in January. Availability requirements are mandatory.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient hospital-based cardiology services.
- Conduct inpatient patient rounds and cardiology consultations.
- Collaborate with an inpatient Advanced Practice Clinician (APC).
- Evaluate and manage urgent inpatient cardiology cases, including:
- Urgent inpatient cardiac catheterizations.
- Temporary pacemaker placements.
- STEMI cases.
- STAT echocardiograms.
- Other urgent inpatient cardiology needs.
Call & Compensation Structure
- Providers will hold the pager throughout the entire assigned coverage period.
- Weekdays (Monday–Friday): Compensation and scheduling structured as a 9-hour regular workday plus overnight call.
- Weekends (Saturday–Sunday): 24-hour coverage with gratis hours.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Must be a qualified Cardiologist with the ability to independently manage inpatient cardiology services.
- TEE (Transesophageal Echocardiography) proficiency is required.
- Nuclear Cardiology skills are required.
- Must be comfortable performing inpatient rounds and consultations.
- Must be capable of managing urgent inpatient cardiac cases.
- Must be available for overnight call and full assignment coverage.
- Must commit to the recurring 5-day long weekend schedule every third weekend beginning in January.
