Advanced Gastroenterology Locum Opportunity in Michigan

Position Overview

Seeking a Board-Certified Advanced Gastroenterologist for hospital, procedural, and call coverage. Full-block availability is mandatory; partial coverage will not be accepted. Expected patient volume is approximately 12 patients per day.

Location: Michigan (MI) | Start Date: March 28, 2027 | Duration: Ongoing, subject to credentialing

Compensation:

• Weekday 24-Hour Call: $4,725
• Weekend 24-Hour Call: $4,000
• Callback Rate: $525/hour
• Orientation Rate: $150
• Holiday Rate: 1.5× applicable rate
• Gratis Hours: 8 hours (weekdays) | 4 hours (weekends)

Schedule & Required Coverage Dates:

• Weekdays: Monday–Friday, 9-hour shifts (8 working hours + 1-hour unpaid lunch), plus 15-hour overnight call.
• Weekends: 24-hour call.

• March 28 (7 AM) – April 5 (7 AM), 2027
• July 26 (7 AM) – August 1 (7 AM), 2027
• August 28 (7 AM) – September 1 (7 AM), 2027
• September 27 (7 AM) – October 1 (7 AM), 2027
• November 24 (7 AM) – November 27 (7 AM), 2027

Qualifications:

• Active Michigan medical license
• Board Certified (BC)
• Required certifications: ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, and BLS
• Approximately 60-day credentialing timeline

Clinical Scope & Facility:

Core procedures include EGD, colonoscopy, pH studies, manometry, sigmoidoscopy, and PEG/PEG-J tube placement. ERCP/EUS experience is preferred. Additional diagnostics include hydrogen breath testing and capsule endoscopy. The facility uses Olympus equipment and propofol, with four procedure rooms/endoscopy suites and an experienced GI team.

EMR & Administrative Responsibilities:

EMR systems include Cerner, Athena, Paragon, and EndoPro. No scribe is provided; the physician must complete all charting independently, review pathology results, and coordinate with nursing staff regarding patient result letters and follow-up recommendations. All overtime (OT) and callback (CB) hours must be logged on the timesheet before submission.
