Hospital is looking for a gastroenterology locum to help fill their gaps in call coverage starting Feb 10, 2025. Ongoing dates will be needed but schedules have not yet been released. Candidate must be available for any of the stints detailed in the job description to be considered for ongoing dates. Candidates must be able to perform ERCP & EUS.
Average callback hours: 8-11 hours
Schedule/Availability Requirements:
- Feb 20 (7a) - Mar 1 (7a)
- May 19 (7a) - 26 (7a)
- Ongoing dates will begin July 2025 and will not be released until Mid Jan 2025
- These dates are not open to privileged providers as they need to backfill starting June for a provider who needs a break.
Details:
- 24 hour call Mon-Sun
- 5-7 days per month, ongoing into 2025.

- Level 1 Trauma
- Required Procedures/Job duties: Scoping, ERCP, EUS, Endoscopy, GI Bleed, Evaluation of GI problems.
- EMR: EPIC
- Support Staff: None
EMR Required Training:
- Module (learn lessons) – Must be completed prior to virtual EMR training to attend the training.
- EMR Virtual training - Only able to attend if Modules are completed before training. Virtual EMR training must be scheduled prior to the providers first day, to avoid the provider missing their first day.
- All candidates must complete the following EMR questionnaire and detail it in the notes section of the candidates submission before an offer can be made:
- What are the # of years of epic experience they have?
- When was the last time (MM/YYYY) that they used Epic?
- What is the name of the last facility the provider used EPIC?
- Can you provide me with a photo large enough to add to a badge and not become pixelated?
- Can you disclose the provider's time zone for scheduling the virtual epic training?
- We need the provider's best phone # to use for call shifts while working. Can you disclose?
- We need the provider's best email, to use for programs while working onsite and the preapplication. Can you please send us their personal email address?
Credentialing Information:
- Timeframe: 60-90 day standard, Emergency privs 1-2 weeks with clean file.

Additional Details / Questions Answered by Facility:
- Patient population: Adult, Geriatric, Adolescent
- Admissions, 8-10 new patients & follow ups. 5-8 scopes per day.
- 15 years old and 50 kilograms for a pediatric trauma. Otherwise, Pediatric patients are not admitted to the facility.
- GI does not admit they are just a consult service.
- 24/7 intensivists & hospitalists at site.
- 24/7 Trauma Services at site.

- Board Certified Gastroenterology - Required
- Active CO License - Highly Preferred
- Active DEA - Required for credentialing (site will consider a transferred DEA, however, must keep this DEA for the duration of the assignment, not just for shifts worked.)
- Must be available for any of the stints detailed in the job description to be considered for ongoing dates - Required
- Must provide # of shifts per month provider can offer to site starting July 2025 - Required
- Candidates must be able to perform ERCP and EUS and required to note in presentation - Required
- Must acknowledge candidate understands the EMR training requirements set forth in job description and will complete in this order to avoid missing their start date - Required
- Gastroenterology Fellowship - Required
- Clean Malpractice/background - Required for February stints - Candidates with self inquiry NPDB report will be placed with priority over those that dont present with it.
